Queen Elizabeth National Park: South Section

On the drive down to the Ishasha section of the park we gave a life to some old soldier who was heading to the fishing village of Rwenshama. We agreed to drop him there despite it being a little out of the way. The village was a total dump: Most of the men were drunk, there was rubbish everywhere and everything was dilapidated. As we drove in we saw 5 mzungus and we thought they were probably there on medical placement so I persuaded Chrissie to give a solar pitch as they would potentially be great customers ....

‘No’ they said ‘we are only here for the day, we heard there was good fish and chips here!!!!’ They never did ask us what we were doing selling solar in this god forsaken place! So we dropped off our soldier and he left behind all his condoms in the car!!

Our campsite at Ishasha was fantastic. It was on the river, we sat in Uganda and the opposite bank was the Congo! There were two pods of hippo who wallowed around in the water and gave us great entertainment. The plains in the Ishasha section were again stunning, everything had babies, we saw the tree climbing lions (a bit far a way so no great pics of them), we saw a male and female lion and lioness who were right by the road, we did plenty of solar pitches and relaxed a lot.
